Project of the month
New built ICE maintenance hall with PC 2540-7 DecoColor
A total of 6,000 square meters of PC 2540-7 DecoColor translucent building elements have been used for the new maintenance hall in Cologne. Four different colors were combined on the outside - Traffic red or DB red (RAL 3020) and black gray (RAL 7021), window gray (RAL 7040) and Opal traffic white (RAL 9016). The inward layers of the panels were completely held in opal.
As the color of the outer layers has a significant impact on the measured light transmission of the panels in the inside of the building, the color spectrum is predominantly in the range of achromatic colors.
The new hall is 450 meters long, 48 meters wide and 12.5 meters high and was built on in-situ concrete piles. The exterior appearance of the longest continuous facade is shaped by a four meter high concrete base in the bottom area and the facade panels of Rodeca in the upper area. The heights of the three individual fields are seperated by traverse profilds. The single fields are 2.55 meters, 2.50 meters and 4 meters. At the front ends of the hall there are access portals with gates into which the trains enter and exit.
Horizontally, the façade panels are subdivided by thermally separated traverse profiles.
Facade with fascinating plastic
The light building elements from Rodeca glaze a warehouse in Oberhausen. In Oberhausen an extension to an existing warehouse and logistics building for the Gude GmbH was created. Light-transmissive and coloured facade panels from Rodeca GmbH give the hall a special appearance both inside and outside. Above all, the appearance of the material contributes to a strong architectural appeal of the building.
The polycarbonate panels were customized in their colour scheme. With their multi-layered structure, they also take over the function of thermal insulation. This has a positive effect on the energy balance of the building. With regard to the use of the hall, the panels have other useful characteristics: Among other things, they protect the sensitive storage goods against UV radiation. The Gude GmbH with headquarter in Rheine is a supplier of disposable food packaging and hygiene products made of paper, plastic, aluminum and groundwood. From three locations in Germany, the wholesaler supplies and services customers like bakery, butcher, catering, industrial and office sectors. In Oberhausen, an existing warehouse and logistics centre has now been extended by a goods depot. With this extension Gude increases its existing capacities and creates the conditions for future growth.
The targeted use of colored panels gives each building a distinctive character.
Product version BICOLOR is exclusively available for our 40mm panel with four layers. BICOLOR means the inner layer of a panel is differently coloured than the three outer layers. Through that special colouring colour appears three-dimensional, lighting effects vary depending on day light and perspective.
Whether as stage setting, as display advertisement, for stand constructions or partition walls - there are barely limits for ideas.
As a matter of course our products are not only suitable for outside use. Especially in the field of interior design and application our products offer a wide scope for creativity and art.
A wide range of colours and products gives plenty options for creative freedom. All our façade products are suitable for usage in interior design projects as well.
